What is CBD?

What is CBD?

I had a great conversation with a customer today! They were asking about the basics of CBD as they had heard it could help with an ailment they had. SPOILER - we found it very well might.
I thought other people might have the same questions, so I thought I would share our conversation here.
Question #1 - What exactly is CBD and what does it stand for?
CBD, or Cannabidiol is a natural compound found in the cannabis family. Unlike its well-known counterpart THC, CBD does not produce any psychoactive effects or the "high" typically associated with marijuana use. Unlike marijuana, hemp contains less than 0.3% THC (that psychoactive compound).
In 2018, the United States passed the Farm Bill, which legalized hemp at the federal level. Under this bill, hemp is defined as any part of the cannabis plant with less than 0.3% THCl, which is great as hemp contains SO many benefits. Which leads me to the second part of the question.
Question #2 - Can it help me with "XYZ"?
In recent years, CBD has been gaining popularity as a potential treatment for various health conditions. CBD interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system (ECS). Yes, your body has a system made for CBD.
This system plays a role in regulating functions such as mood, appetite, sleep, and immune response. By interacting with this system, it is believed that CBD may have therapeutic benefits for conditions such as anxiety, depression, and chronic pain.
So, who has other questions?
